Finally noticed the gas tank was empty. I had filled it after my last use buy my fuel filter had come loose and all the gas had leaked out into the gravel.

Filled the tank and she cranked right up...no problem.

I was hoping someone would post something like that so I wouldn't feel all alone.

I have been riding motorcycles since 1968.
Including dirtbikes and all, my Suzuki 1000 is my 24th bike.
Last year, I was riding down I-5 and I knew the fuel was low but I wanted to run it REALLY LOW so as to have fresh gas upon fillup.
All of a sudden it started konking out and there I was; pushing it down the side of the road.
I pushed it for a couple of miles. :(
Then an O-DOT guy came along and gave me 1/2 gallon of gas and I rode it to the gas station.
The next day, it occured to me that I didn't even think to turn it on reserve!!
Can you believe it?!!!!
Aslhiemers, or what??
I felt like a dunce. :eek:

I can plead innocent there. It already was in reserve.

The stupid part is that I was running it in reserve.

But I'm sure your government likes the extra 2 dollars a gallon in tax they are collecting on every gallon over and above what the US government is collecting. I know the Dems have recently floated a bill to RAISE gas taxes by 50 cents a gallon. Maybe it was an ex-patriot Ozzy wanting to feel at home?

$7.58 a gallon for us convicts , if it gets any worse i'll try running it on Scotch .

Went to help a guy start a Moline. ASSUMED the obvious had been done since he just wanted me there to steer the moline. Pulled it about 2 MILES with a no start condition. Finally asked about fuel after pulling plugs and seeing they were dry. Addition of the miracle substance meant the engine started in about 3/4 of a revolution.

Never seen an adult look so much like a sheep.

This is similar to the random dead battery problem that my dad had a few years ago. He'd park it and sometimes it'd be dead when he came back. Battery and charging system tests revealed that every thing was fine.
The problem was the turn signal. Sometimes when leaving the car, his coat would turn the signal 'right' and the battery would discharge even though the car engine was stopped and the key was removed. Other times he wouldn't happen to hit the turn stalk and the car battery wouldn't discharge while he was gone.

Throughout all of this it's kind of nice to know that it always is something. There aren't really gremlins or evil spirits, and the machine doesn't really have a mind of its own. There's alway some actual cause. Sometimes we just never find it.
