I've done this a gazillion times, but occasionally hit a bump in the road. Today, after reconnecting the hydraulic lines and moving the BH forward to click in place, the hydraulic lines got pinched when the BH deck moved forward. The result is I have no hydraulics - - I can稚 do anything. I cannot dislodge the thing to relieve the pinched lines.

Anyone ever had this happen? Solutions? I cannot dislodge the thing to relieve the pinched lines.

Thanks,

Jack

Good idea, but I already tried it. While the BH did not click in place, it's attached well enough that when I jacked on the BH, it lifted the tractor too.

I don't know exactly how/ where the hoses are pinched but try lifting the tractor with the jack. That might let the BH rock back and relieve the pinch.

Support the BH really, really well then disconnect the lines and wait .....

Thanks all. I solved the problem by coming in & pouting for an hour or two - - PO'd at myself for not noticing the hoses in jepordy.

When I went back out I got the outriggers/stabilizers to lower a bit at a time & so I used them to relieve the pressure enough to pry the hose loose. That happened to me once before, but not as severe as this time.

Do not feel bad, I almost did this twice..I feel it is a design problem and an easy fix.

This issue and install the pins is a PITA.

I often have an issue getting the FEL on. For some reason I end up pushing the **** thing all over the place. Other times it goes on like baby oil.

Tdog,
What model tractor/backhoe do you have? I've had my backhoe on and off many times and have had no problems with the hoses. Mine is the BX23/BT600

I have a BX22 & whatever the BH was that came with it [BT600 sounds right]. I've taken the BH/FEL off many times - - every time I mow. Someone told me that for models after the BX22, they secured the lines to keep them in place, out of harm's way during the install process. Don't know if that's true or not.

How about using a light bungee cord to keep the lines out of the way but still allow movement?

I can post pictures of my BX24 hose of the way its secured. How about posting yours with the problem ? I am curious as I don't want anything to happen to mine.

I had a 22 and that was fine...My 24 seems the hoses always move...I stil think my BH on my old 22 was way easier to install.

Not to hijack my own thread, Sw03, but why would you get rid of a 22 for a 24? Hi number of hours? New car fever?

radioman - - I can get a picture, but I'll tell you the issue - - the hoses flop over to starboard enough so that they get pinched. I'm thinking about securing them near the center of the tractor - - maybe that bungee cord, maybe just a piece of nylon twine.

Since I moved and did not need it..Then moved again and got a new one..The Bx24 is just like the old Bx22 with some perks but nothing crazy..

For the price I paid, it was a steal.

The BH is a royal PITA on the 24. I like the hood on the 24 and the seat is still an issue...The quick stopping sucks on the 24 but you need to deal with it.There are others but those are simple ones.
