Backhoe BH77 broke - defective part?

   / BH77 broke - defective part? #101
Hello,

I take delivery of my new L3800 w/BH77 tomorrow and wish to identify exactly what pin I should quiz my dealer about. Can someone please show me a pic, or describe its location?

Thank you,

There is an image included in the very first post of this thread that points to the pin.

All,

I checked with my dealer and there IS a mandatory campaign on this PIN.

Affected Serial numbers are A0005 thru A1209

Just wanted to share the info I received.

I 2nd this comment.

Which rubber pads are you referring to?

Nevermind, you are talking about the stabilizer pads. If you are planning on using the backhoe on pavement, or blacktop, or just for storage on a concrete floor, I would recommend the pads so you don't screw up your driveway or garage floor.

Birdman,

The serial numbers you provided are for the backhoe pin issue, right?

Thanks fellow Vermonter!

Yup.....that range of serial numbers is affected by the 'weak pin' bulletin.

I just bought my BH77 in OCT last year and the serial number is way outta the range affected by this PIN (mine is A2xxx), so there is a high probability that you will be OK once you receive yours as well.

Anyone can have a backhoe that has been sitting in inventory for a long time and there is a chance that you do get one in between A0005 thru A1209, but my gut is telling me you are most likely going to be ok.

All I can say is ouch. And I was going to buy the 77. I just bought an L3200 and planned on getting the hoe this winter. This may change my plans entirely. A hoe that breaks pins that easily is just not something I can deal with. Way too much hard work here for it to survive.
I sure hope you get it resplved to where you are both happy with the resolution and confident in your machine.
Good luck friend.
