My rare vise find yesterday.

A “pre Irwin” (made in England or USA) Record heavy duty engineer’s vise with 6” offset jaws.

They are no longer available in North America, but Chinese and Indian clones are plentiful in Australia.

Mr. Terry, good to hear you're doing well. And it appears you are still hooked on odd vises!




Mr. Kyle, the wood assembly bench reminded me of my B-I-L. Sometimes he gets taken at auction, and sometimes he scores. He won (2) 8' x 8' heavy duty shop assembly tables, with similar vises mounted on each side of the table from a school surplus sale, barely used...$50 total...sight unseen. They are working out great in his shop.

They look much like the one in your last photo. Now you've got me wondering about the vise brand...
