Some very much so and others definitely not... the retired RN that just moved had her car keyed with F Trump because she had a Trump bumper sticker on her car... she is 68 and said supporting the President gives license to damage her car... where as she never thought much of Obama but never in a million years would she vandalize anyone for having a Obama/Biden sticker.
She was just back to tie up some lose ends and said she has already made new friends and only wished she could have moved sooner...
The SF news tonight was doing a story about MAGA hats... overwhelming people in San Francisco said anyone wearing that hat is asking for trouble or too stupid to know better... all said with a straight face. The irony is we proport to be open to diversity and tolerance but some of the most closed minded intolerant people I have every met live in the Bay Area... go figure? People wearing the hat are getting put in the hospital...
The only person I have ever seen wearing a MAGA hat here was 82 when he passed away... people would make comments but my retired military friend was very hard of hearing and those making comments would give up...
If you want some perspective on that, some people don't have tolerance for intolerance. Between mocking the disabled, bragging about assaulting women and encouraging hate groups("very fine people on both sides") that's why you see such a visceral reaction on the left.
I won't condone it but the first step to bridging the gap comes from understanding where both halves come from. Sadly it seems like most stuff these days are just people shouting past each other.
