Free needles in Vancouver BC has been a program for awhile. I visit once or twice a year and I haven't seen any improvement from my limited knothole. The druggie population on the street seems to be growing.

That's GOOD NEWS. More money, other peoples money (THEY always call it funding) for the people and departments that look after these unfortunates.

Right, funding, revenue or whatever they call it. It is bureaucracy building any way it is sliced.
There was one city official in Seattle who was on the news and said he was not like the rest of the city officials, that he was pro business. That told volumes as to why we are where we are.

Someone just ran the numbers of the billions SF is set to spend on state of the art navigation centers and assistance for homeless...
The numbers equal out to $450,000 for every man woman child that is homeless in the county right now... staggering.
Build it and they will come is the real fear expressed by the other side...
Maybe it isn't so much big cities are dying but instead committing suicide?

I was just looking for it as it was on the evening news yesterday... probably CBS or ABC...
It was one of those staggering numbers...

Looks like one big turd. Seattle is about the same. Here is what the Seattle mayor said... The mayor’s office also confirmed that cleanup of any illegal dumping of human waste on a private property is the responsibility of the property owner, not the city.
