Big ride on mower

l had a bash at finishing the cut down axle for the rear tonight, just about there l think

l dident cut any plates for this l just tipped out my old scrap bin its full of old laser cut tabs and brackets and just made do with what l could find

l see this axle as a prototype so its a case of make it up as l go along,
maybe make another maybe not see how this one works first

l bought some new track rod ends for the steering and then managed to find some rose joints on ebay with the right thread to screw straight on

need shortening a bit but thats no great problem

next l have to strip the old sidekick back axle and get it shotblasted so l might be quiet for a while

yup about the same here, l pop down the laser cutters now and then and have a sort through his scrap bin, bit of cash and he is happy and l am happy lol,

you just need a bit of imagination and away you go,

just made theses into a support for the gear change cables

been doing a bit just not much worth taking a picture of, engine mounts are done and the cross members are in

hi

l forgot to say last time l posted that l decided to go with the manual gearbox, if l am honest it was just laziness, l have this car that works fine, same diesel engine but auto gearbox and l was planning on pulling the engine and box and using it in the mower but when it came to it l opted for the manual l already had on the bench :ashamed:

l might swap the power steering pump over on to the mower still though as on the citroen it also works the hydraulic suspension as is a lot beefier and might work my hyd steering ram better

mean while l have sorted the gear change on the mower, l got a cable change from a toyota mr2 but it was to short unless l ran the cables up against the turbo which l saw as trouble for later so l found some bowden cables on ebay and fitted them with rose joints on the ends and with a bit of a mod to the linkage brackets it looks like it will work

also changed direction with the radiator, it was going to be fitted on the side but had a re think on that one to

now its going to be forward facing under the seats, just so much easier to plumb up like that
made the fan mountings and the bottom fixing for the radiator today
