I know these machines are bigger than what you are looking at, but may give you something to think about. I have 2 acres, I had a Kioti CK30, 30 hp about 5500lbs with a backhoe, the backhoe was strong enough to toss the tractor around, but could not break thru 2" diameter roots. I upgraded to a DK40, 40hp about 7500lbs, the backhoe on the DK just laughs at 2" roots and rips them out with no issues. Sumps that took me over an hour of digging and moving the tractor with the CK30 now take me 10 min with the DK40. If you just have good dirt to dig thru, no rocks/stumps, then a smaller tractor w/BH would do the job... just slower. If your land is hardpack, full of rocks/stumps.. then I would go bigger than what you are talking about. Having said that, even though the DK is only slightly larger than the CK, I miss the maneuverability of the CK. The DK weighs more and the tires have less surface area so it does more damage to the lawn. I miss my smaller CK, but I needed the power of the DK that the CK just didn't provide.

Yes I have been watching those 4shorts videos on youtube before I found this site. He seems to be a guy that really knows what he is doing. I love his mods to his wood chipper (another thing I have thought about) with the base and the lopper holder.

I am still reviewing the other threads suggested.

Yep, we can all learn from Paul.

If I could only keep one tractor it would be my BX23.

That said, it is limited small tires and low ground clearance and a soft underbelly which requires more care.

I do like it is small enough to get into tight quarters and light enough for me to winch out which has happened more than a few times.

My Deere 110 is a real workhorse and does an amazing amount of work, which now is not as important as most of the heavy work is done.

My friend has gone the other route... he has a bobcat and a mini excavator... the track bobcat is pretty invincible and the excavator can out dig a TLB...

All depends on your budget, application and time frame.

When I needed a Dozer I bought one and very pleased I did... only sold it because I ran out of work for it.

Arrange with the dealer to get the size you think you need. Have him bring it to your property then try it on a job that you would do. If you like it buy it. If not you have your answer.

He bought a BX. Big surprise heh?

Might be his best choice all things considered.

Buying psychology is what it is. Car salesmen say buyers have already decided what they will buy, the shopping process is just to make them comfortable with their decision. And, if you are selling to someone that you think is looking for that justification or comfort, give it to them or shut up. :D

I'm sure tractor guys are totally immune to that sort of thought process.

I hope it works well for him.

Now I have to go unsubscribe again.

I am so far real happy....I plan on putting updates in the Kubota section.

Strange enough its first job was to pull the truck and trailer that delivered it out of the mud.

Forgive the bad video quality, I really need to tell the wife to shoot video with the sun BEHIND her.
