Case 580C TLB
Does anybody know if Kubota is considering making a do everything tlb bigger than the BX22? Yes I know about the B21, L35 and L45. I looked real hard at the B21 but the loader doesn't come off /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif . At least not very easily. The L35 is too big. Kubota has the baby bear version of the estate tlb, how about the mama bear version? I have a Case 580C /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif to do my serious digging until I have all of my utilities in. Then I'm going to be looking at an estate tractor. I would like to be able to swivel the seat to use the backhoe yet still be able to put a belly mower on it. The BX22 looks like an awesome little tlb but it would be nice to have something like it in the B7800 size. If any Kubota engineers are looking get cracking /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif ! I tried to update my page but it doesn't seem to be working.

With my very LOW experience using backhoes (two days on a rented trackhoe clearing trees, stumps, and brush), it is somewhat intimidating trying to offer advise to an experienced Case backhoe operator. But, with a "good neighbor' attitude, I'll make the attempt.

I'll start by saying that I don't completely understand your desire. I'm thinking that Kubota has the equipment to satisfy your desires and would love to exchange their equipment for your money.

BX22: Kubota makes a mid-mower for the BX22. I have the impression that the mid-mower is compatible with both the FEL and backhoe (meaning that any combination of the 3 implements may be installed at the same time), but I don't know where I got that impression because the sales brochure doesn't show a BX22 with all 3 attachments installed at the same time. Maybe one of the BX22 owner's on this board must've posted some information about their mid-mower and backhoe.

B7500: Of course, if you prefer the B7500's size, you can always add get the 4672 backhoe (6.5' digging depth), or move up to the B2710/B2910 and get either the 4672 backhoe or the 4690 backhoe (7.5' digging depth). The 4690 operates using tractor hydraulics while the 4672 utilizes a PTO driven hydraulic pump (ref: Grand L 30 Series sales brochure).

Hopefully that information is useful to you, but I'm assuming that you already knew that, which leads me back to my original statement that I am not sure exactly what desire you have that Kubota doesn't fulfill.

I have the B7500 with the 4672 BH and it does all that you refer to. The only downfall is the 2 seat issue. You do have to get off and on the tractor each time you move. It's not a big deal though because the tractor is not that high. I think of it as good exercise.

Greg,

Use the hoe to push the tractor when digging. Saves getting off each time.

I have a B7500 with a Woods 7500 hoe on it. A 7500 will do all you need.

Secretec,
Thanks for the suggestion. I did read in the operators manual that when doing trench work, you shouldn't move the tractor with the BH. It also strongly advises against side filling with the hoe. I have seen some other posts regarding this and there seems to be some mixed feelings about some of these warnings. How hard is it on a BH to move the tractor forward when trenching? How hard is it on the hoe when applying some light side pressure? Sometimes these actions are unavoidable and I would hate to think that I am doing serious damage everytime I put some side pressure on the bucket, and there are times when I have had to move the back end of the tractor with the hoe. Any thoughts?

My point is if I'm going to spend $20,000 on a tractor it should do what I want it to do how I want it to do it. I think the Kubota people have done an excellent job on the BX22. I would like them to do the same engineering on a compact version. I know other tractors like the B7500 would do the job. It just seems that if I'm going to spend that kind of money it should perform the way I want it. There is a reason they designed the BX22 the way they did.

I like the one seat version. Not becasue I'm lazy. Well ok, that too, but It seems that the backhoe doesn't stick out as far on a tlb designed like the BX22 as apposed to the two seater versions. The two seaters will probably do the job it's just the one seaters are more "ellegant" at it. It also seems like there is more room for the operator on a one seater although even on the 580C I have to slide the seat back to turn it around.

You might take a look at the Kioti CK20. It is supposed to have quick detach loader and backhoe. just slightly bigger than the BX22.
