Bird Has Passed Away

Met Bird a couple of times in person. Actually went up to Denton to attend his birthday party many moons ago. (about a 4 hour drive one way). Maybe it was his 70th celebration. Many TBN'ers were there. Many that I'd like to know how they are doing these days.

He was a big foundation here on TBN.

I live in Denton and ran into Bird around town a few times over the years, I was also at that birthday celebration. I think every time I ran into him, he was wearing Dickies coveralls, like one of the photo's someone posted in his obit. I ran into him one time at a local gun range, when I was sighting in a little Henry mini-bolt .22lr that I was sighting in for my girls. Always enjoyed speaking with him. His helpful demeanor, knowledge and experiences (as well as many of the other old-timers) here on TBN were one of the many things that attracted me to TBN and has kept me here for 20+ years.

Some of my wife's side of the family were Dallas PD, covering the years that Bird was serving and surely would have known Bird. Unfortunately, my wife's aunt (DPD detective) and uncle (DPD Officer) both recently passed, and I was never able to swap/learn some stories about Bird.

Godspeed Bird! You were seen as a gentleman by many and will be missed.

I enjoyed reading his postings and as the amount of his postings declined, I silently wished for more of his wisdom. They were always interesting and informative with an elegant vocabulary.

Hate to hear of his passing. He always seemed calm in his postings. I remember him from when it was a Kubota forum. He will be missed. Prayers for his family.

So sorry to hear it. I was just thinking about him the other day and wondering what he was up to. He signed on a little over a year before I did. He was very helpful with tips and suggestions when I bought my 2001 TC33. He will certainly be missed!

According to his obituary, he actually passed away, this past October.
Just figured I’d mention it , because some posters might be under the impression it just happened days ago
