Birmingham Alabama

I am going to be in the Birmingham area from January 20th through the 26th. I will be working in Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Childersburgh, and Bessemer. I will be working nights doing some retrofit work on equipment in Taco Bell restaurants. If any of you live in the area, post a reply here and I will make an attempt to meet up with you for a meal or something.

I don't live in Birmingham but I am in the National Guard there. I live in Athens AL about 100 miles north of B-ham. I could recommend a restaurant or two. Jim & Nick's BBQ. There are 2 or 3 in B-ham. The easiest to find is on Oxmoor about 1/2 west of I-65. Another good one is South of the Border at the Summit on Highway 280. If you like Chinese, give Mr. Wangs a shot on Lakeshore about a 1/2 mile west of 65 also. If you like BBQ ribs try Dreamland, there is one in B-ham and Tuscaloosa.

When in Tuscaloosa I second it that you don't miss Dreamland. I always made it a point to dine (if thats the correct term!) there when I visited my brother. Wear crappy clothes as you will get messy.
