...that was my thought to, that maybe he got a lot more than we know about, but I know how I flet after I finally made my decision to plunk down the cash and was trying to sympathize with how this guy might feel

Congratulations! Your rig is exactly what has become my dream machine. I've been shopping for the past year, and this forum has convinced me there is no life without TNT and remote beyond, HD buckets, block heaters, filled tires, grill guards, cup holders and every bell and whistle. I am really suprised that you can go to the dealers lot and find a machine with all this on it. All the places I've been generally have stripped down, basic machines. Did the dealer have to install all the options? If so, it seems like a pretty rapid turnaround. Did you get SuperSteer? I'm sure you'll love your new toy. Remember, the cost can be amortized over a long time so "it's only a few pennies a day".

ejb, this reminds me of the time an elderly lady, working for my brother, bought herself a late model used car. She was excited about it and showing him her "new" car. They discussed it awhile and she finally said, "Aren't you going to ask me what I paid for it; everyone else has?" He said, "Nope, if it was too low they wouldn't have sold it to you, and if it was too high, you wouldn't have bought it, so I figure the price must have been just about right."

Congrats on the new tractor! Hope you have as much fun with yours as I will with mine!

There are old pilots, and there are bold pilots, but there are very, very few old bold pilots. And they get scarcer every day.

Robert, your assessment of about $23K is exactly what I am able to calculate on this tractor (disregarding what a bunch of politically correct Kubota and John Deere jocks think is correct). When someone quotes a price in their post, they are opening up their deal for discussion (in my blue opinion) and I think I owe it to them to give an honest appraisal. To do less would be less than honest. I also know that Benewton has purchased a very fine tractor and even if he paid about $2k on the high side, he has a nice rig and will get a lot of use out of it. I know I sure like my TC45D and it is exactly the tractor I expected it to be. I hope Benewton enjoys his tractor as much as I enjoy mine.

I didn't mean to offend anyone and I know you understand why I said anything, I have never shoped for a compact only full size 50-80 hp tractors and when I saw that he paid roughly the same as I did for a tractor about 20hp stronger I was shocked. I do hope he enjoys his machine as much as everybody else and even if he did pay a few dollars more he wont worry about it after a few hours use. I wonder how hard it would be to set up a page on this board that list the average buying price and tractor specs for what you bought so that every other prospective buyer has more bargining power. Sorry if I did offend anybody as it was not my intention. Good luck with your new tractor and be careful benewton.

benewton, Congratulations and remember if you are happy with your purchase that is all that is important. I have learned that regional price differences can be considerable.

Congrats. I have just begun my quest for the machine that will fit into the 3rd stall of garage when we build next year. I have a while to go and lots of research to sift through. It sounds as though you are as thorough as I am and you did your homework. Good luck and have a great time. Just remeber * * * S N O W * * * is just around the corner.

Gentleman:

You guys play rough sometimes!

I read the board, knew that the price wasn't great, and knew I'd hear something. But I also
think that the price is fair, as does my favorite female, and what else matters?

So it goes: you live there, I live here, I want a local dealer, and all prices are relative...
But I do have to say, Mr. Turk, that if the contest is for the lowest price, all others being
beaten about the head and shoulders, that there will be very few posts to the "paid price" forum.

And the dealer is important, at least to me. You may beat him down to the last dime, but
there is the service department after that, and they will then do the same to you.
I prefer a lower level of conflict, myself, but you have to wait for the problems to occur
and be fixed to sure of the worth of the second party, so I'll wait before I publish their names.

As for raining on the parade, this machine replaces a pair of shovels, snow and dirt, an
18" snowblower, and a well used wheelbarrow.
Covers that?

Mr Bird: I read your stuff everywhere, think on it, and consider you opinions worthy.
Write more!

I guess, for all the others who responded that I didn't mention: eleven days and counting!
