Out of the pan, into the fire.

Thats what I heard after the fact , nice thing is they are still holding air . I wasnt too worried , I had a set of carslie tires on my B30 burkeen vibratory plow . They went bad after 24 years . I replaced them with the same

I replaced a set of 9x24's ags with BKT's that were 8 ply. They were maybe a half inch shorter, allowing for wear, than the old Firestones. I found them to be superior in traction. Pete's Tire Barn seems to have a nice breakdown on the specs of each tire.

Do mfgs generally make available rolling circumferences for their tires. I want to put wider tires on the front of the 7520 4wd. With a slightly lower profile characteristic as BKT exhibits? I may be able to go from Titan 11.2x24 to 12.4 BKT w/o much increase in circumference. ... Firestone SAT II tires seem to have a slightly lower profile too.
larry

The 12.4's BKT's 8 plies are about the same size as the Titan 12.4x24 and the same for the 11.2x24's each being 43.5" in diameter. The rolling circumference is 130 for the 11.2's and 137 for the 12.4's. In actuality, the BKT's seem to be taller than many of the alternative manufacturer listings for the same size made by Michelin, Firestone, Nokian, etc..

:2cents: I can only add my BX has turf Titan's that are 12yrs old now and hardly worn. I spend 80% time on turf and 20% pushing snow on concrete and asphalt.
The front are foam filled for the FEL.

Sits outside under a tarp most of the time.

My JD came with Titans. When the front two died after 8 years (cuts, thorns, sun, ) the local dealer told me he could not get Titans so he gave me Carlisle. A year later I went to another dealer and bought Titans. Still have the original Titans on the rear, about 14 years old with 5000 hrs of hard use.

Question for the guys that dislike the Titans...

Are you all talking about bias ply tires?

I ask because my Kubota M9540 came with Titan Radials all the way around, despite frequent road use they wore evenly and quite slowly. At around 1000 hours I decided to replace both fronts due to a complete side wall blow out on one side. The best I can figure I rubbed the side walk against a stump or rock, hard. A bubble almost as big as my fist developed on the side wall and I limped it along for about a month before it blew out. I see it as my fault.

Then I bought a new set of tires on the rim from whole goods. Major disappointment when they turned out to be bias ply. These things have less than 200 hours on them and are showing major signs of wear. The lugs are wearing to a point instead of flat.

So, in my experience, the radial Titans are fine and I will look at them again when the rears wear out. I don't expect that to be soon though, they have lots of tread left.

The bias ply Titan tires are a whole different story.

This must be because you regard the sidewall failure as your fault. I have abused the heck out of the bias plys on the front of the 7520 doing heavy loader work. They are completely OK at 1400 hrs. Tread chunking yes. Carcass damage, no.

I've done all the same types of work you mention with the radials. I'm not sure any R1 would have stood up to the hit this sidewall took, maybe I'm wrong. I know for sure the bias Titans wouldn't have lasted as long, based on the way they wear alone.
