blowing fuses

   / blowing fuses #11
Hello Mjack, If you have a multimeter , test your voltage at your battery, should be 12v when the tractor is off, 14.5 volts when running. That will tell you your voltage condition of your battery and if the alternator is charging it. If this checks out then you probably do have a short or a fuse that is underrated. To test for a short simply disconect your positive terminal from your battery and put your multi meter on the 10 amp dc scale. Make sure everything is turned off on the tractor and put your leads in series with the disconected lead and the terminal on the battery. If you have current flow with all devices off you have a short. Reconnect your terminals on your battery. Now follow your main cable up to your fuse box and remove the fuses one by one working from the main down . Put your multi meter in dc 10 amps again and test from the line to load side of your fuse terminals. By this process you can narrow a short down to the wire its on. From there a good inspection will be needed, tracing the path of the wire from this point. As others said here with 8 hours on the tractor this should be a dealer issue.. Good luck
