Blown Hydraulic pump

I have a KAMA TS354X with a FEL. When my son was doing some bush hogging the quick disconnect at the rear of the tractor popped off and hydraulic fluid went flying. We reattached the QD and then tried filling the reservoir. Noticed that half of the bolts that connect the lines to the pump were missing and fluid was pouring out of the bolt holes. I assume the pump is shot. Can anyone tell me where I can get a new pump and how hard is it to replace?

Did the very same thing with my Kubota. Call where you bought it and see if they can order a new pump. Call a warehouse who handles this line or take the pump off and go to a hyd.shop and see if they can match something up. kubota warehouse is nearby in Columbus Ohio, so I had mine overnight.

HI, if you can send me a picture of the pump and engine size I can try to match it up, we are a Jinma dealer and have several pumps in stock. Also I would recommend getting rid of the quick connects, they tend to cause a lot of problems and can take out a HYD pump if they decided to quit working, they can switched to a by pass kit.

Did you try bolting the hose back to the pump. Pressure hose might just have came lose.

Did the pump crack the case?

Install a gage and check the pressure.

Sorry about not getting back to you. Been sick & unable to take the pump off.
Another question: After I noticed the hydraulic fluid pouring out of the bolt holes I turned off the master hydraulic lever and told my son to drive the tractor back to the house. Took him a long time. When I asked him what the delay was he said he could only get the transmission into second gear. I happened to notice that the master hydraulic lever was in the on position. Does the pump run off a shaft and could the shaft be messed up too? Any way to get it out easily?

If that pump is one that is mounted just above the PTO shaft at the rear of the tractor, it is driven by a shaft with a rectangular tang, I think. That tang engages a slot in the end of the pump shaft. Your description of what happened with the pump and the QD's suggests to me that when the QD became disconnected, it deadheaded the pump and split the pump internally, causing it to leak oil from every orifice. The pump deadheading would put a heavy load on the engine and force the operator to run in a lower gear to keep the RPM up, which just makes the pump split sooner. This stall situation created by the back pressure of the deadheaded pump can also round off the drive tang.

The pump should remove easily with the four or six bolts that hold it to the tractor. Once those are removed the pump should just pull off and you can visually check the drive tang and slot.

One thing to note when/if you replace that pump - the rear pump rotates the opposite of the engine-mounted pump for the FEL and steering, from what I recall. You shoiuld verify this with the dealer you buy the new pump from so you set it up right. It isn't difficult to change the direction of rotation, you just sort of swap ends on the pump assembly.

Just a note of caution - learned the hard way. Install an external relief valve for your hydraulic system as the one on your chinese tractor likely won't stop further problems. Also install a pressure gauge in the hydraulic system as well.
I didn't initially have either and managed to blow two pumps - original and replacement.
In my case, the problem seems to be an intermittent pressure spike in the TPH - everything else checked out fine. I can see what is happening on the pressure gauge during use and the pressure spikes are taken care of by the new external relief valve. I intend to fix the problem once it is identified, but for now I can use my tractor.

The classic symptom/result of deadheading it. Nothing to do but replace it and correct the situation that caused it to deadhead. I do recommend installing an external system relief valve and pressure gauge as Jim suggested. Cheap insurance and handy for diagnostics.

This is either a bad security breach of this site by a hacker (most likely scenario) or the site itself is doing it to promote a pet client - either way, it is morally and legally WRONG! I have reported this offense to the administrator(s) of the site, and am considering reporting it to CANSPAM and/or the Federal Trade Commission as well.

Don't use the word "insurance" in any post or it may happen to you as well. "In*urance" or some similar dodge may not trigger the bot, I don't know. We'll see. Where I put the word "ins******" in quotes it did not turn into a link, from what I can see. I hope the site admin will address this issue quickly, otherwise I'll have to cease any connection with this site until the problem is resolved - I simply will not allow anyone to modify my posts without my prior consent. This site is not 1/8 as bad as others. Some are so blatant an entire page opens, and some sites have heavy adverts between the posts which really screws with your mind. This pales by comparison.

The offensive thing to me Bob, is someone altering my post in a way that makes it appear that I am endorsing a particular business. Hey, I regularly endorse Affordable Tractor and other dealers since I think they deserve it, but that's MY prerogative in what I write. No one else should be able to control my endorsements in any way, unless he wants to pay me for being a flack. That's just straightforward business, to say nothing of being compliant with copyright law.

Yes, it's Muhammad's site and if he wants he can delete my posts for cause. He's done it and it was not unreasonable when he did. No complaint. But this is not the same thing by any means. An advertising gambit, pure and simple; Google is almost certainly behind it. They charge a fee to scan web pages for keywords associated with specific goods and/or services. Each occurrence of such keyword is linked to the commercial entity who paid Google for the service. Website owners are complicit. They voluntarily sign a deal with Google to permit these arbitrary insertions, after which they get a share of the Google fee. It's just another in a long list of reasons why I try as best I can to avoid all things Google.

I realize that the site has to be paid for and advertising is what keeps it afloat. I'm okay with that, as I learned a long time ago there ain't no such thing as a free lunch (Tanstaafl), but changing a post in a way that gives the appearance that the original author endorses some company is so unethical I can't believe that it isn't also illegal. It also personally offends me, though that doesn't carry any weight, I know. Whoever is behind it has a tenuous grip on the ethics of intellectual property rights, I think.

At least now I know something of what I'm dealing with here so I can adjust accordingly. My naivete has been at least partially corrected. I know the process isn't going to change, as once the money has started flowing no one will be willing to shut it off, short of a court order.
