How's either of those help the OP? He tried it, didn't like it,
i agree with Neil in the video on this topic. I have owned several treadle pedal and one twin touch (current Kioti) and this is just a matter of preference. It is also a matter of familiarity. It takes at least a day of operation to get "settled" in with one or the other systems. Either one feels "weird" at first when transitioning from one to the other, but both work fine. Spending 5 minutes operating the tractor will not tell you what you need to know about what you like or dislike. It takes hours to build the "muscle memory" so that the operation with either becomes something you don't think about. Again, they are both fine and either will do. It is the human that needs to adapt to either system.
Took me all of 30 seconds to determine I didn’t like it and after years of owning it it never got any better!
Relief came with the sale and replacement with tractors that have dual pedals.

I recomend if your not comfortable with it during the test run skip it and run away it won’t get any better with time!

I purchased a new Bobcat compact tractor today. I also intended to take advantage of their current implement promotion - buy 2 implements and receive a $400 rebate. Unfortunately the 2 implements I wanted were not included in the program according to Bobcat paperwork handed to me by the dealer. The dealer was sympathetic to the situation but was not able to do anything about it. The program description does not list any exclusions. What gives?
I had a similar situation with Massey Ferguson 2 years back. $300 off a Woods tiller. Went through every department MF has and ended up stuck somewhere between too bad and so what. Hope you fare better. Good luck.

You must have tried keeping your whole foot on the pedal. I've had 4 hydro tractors with "treadle pedals" since '91 with the heel and toe technique. I've also occasionally used a tractor at work that has a dual side-by-side setup and never cared for it. Neil Messick did a video on it that shows what I mean:

It's a matter of preference I believe. I test drove a Kubota Grand series when I was looking for a tractor. The treadle pedal was uncomfortable to me and turned me away from the Kubota. Ended up with a 3r series JD. Kubota makes a good tractor but the treadle pedal was a game changer to me. I couldn't deal with that.

I have had both pedal styles. With my Kubota, I didn’t use the reverse pedal often, I usually lifted the forward pedal up with the top of my foot, worked well but would hurt your foot a little if you did it a lot. With my JD I like the side by side pedal setup better but it’s not instinctive on which one is forward and reverse.
