Doosan is the Korean company who purchased BC quite a few years back and did make changes. Sometime after that, they came back and said there margins are to low and they'll need to lighten materials used on them. For example, if the frame was 1/4" steel, it was changed to 3/16 and so on. If you check the specs on these machines, there are indeed lighter in weight, than comparable machines from other manufactures. Our buddy among the items he designed for them was rubber tracks for a small backhoe they build. Its life expectancy specifications for them was only 300 hours. That's to short but it does save $$$.

Now some posters can return to a normal level of anger. :fiery:

Arly I was trying to be neutral and just my guess at interpreting your comment as it fired up some folks.
I have owned just about all the major players in the ss market, except BC and Cat. My ride for the last 12+ years is a Gehl.
Completely mechanical, the way I like it.:D

@Jchonline- I wish our local Kubota dealer wasn't worthless.

Here are a few clips from my demo. Its not great vid,but wanted to record my initial thoughts since It was really my first time on a CTL. My Kubota tractor is now dead to me. Not sure I will be buying a Bobcat 650 or not, but this really opened my eyes as to the usefulness of a CTL.

Nice video, I'm glad they brought one for you to try. It looks to me the type of work you do a skidsteer is a must. First off, that is a narrow track machine. A wide track is preferable to me because the wider track the less debris get to the undercarriage. It is not a deal breaker by any means. Second, a radio would be mounted in front of the right hand joystick where the little storage box is. There would be wiring beneath the grey box. Third is the door, it is removable in a few seconds without any tools and takes only a few seconds after removing the strong arm. I only use the door in real dusty conditions, rain, and cold. Otherwise its off because its always dusty or the reflection from the sun can be a strain, and for ease of getting in and out. Plus the weather stripping is notorious for folding over making the door difficult to close tight. Last is the hand controls. Everyone has their opinion but I've never been a fan. If they break down your talking real money (thousands) to get fixed. They can only be done by dealer because of computer programming etc. And they do cause issues, everything electrical does. You can be much more precise with standard hand/foot controls because its hydraulic over hydraulic, not electric over hydraulic. There are delays in the hand controls and sometimes trying to find the "sweet spot" in tight areas can result in hitting things that can be expensive. Plus the whole hand/foot is system is very simple if problems do occur. There are countless 20-30 year old machines with thousands of hours that have never had any issues with hand/foot controls. I dont think we will find that kind of reliability over the years with electric hand controls. Thats just my opinion, I know others will disagree but I like simple things. We have had (have) both Cat and Bobcat skidloaders since Cat came out with their first around 2004. So I have plenty of hours on Cats with hand controls in addition to the 30 yrs on Bobcat with hand/foot.
