Bolt on hooks for bucket

Hey all, I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a Kioti CS2410 with loader and one thing I've been seeing on a lot of pictures are the hooks that are either welded or bolted to the top of the bucket to allow you to easily chain or strap equipment or material. Along with the the tractor I will be getting a 60" tiller, and a 60" box blade so I'm thinking the hooks will come in mighty handy for moving these around my property. My question is this. On many of the tractors I see two hooks, one mounted towards the outside of the bucket in line with the cylinders and lift arms. My tractor that I am looking at has a single cylinder in the center of the loader. Should I only mount one hook in the center by the cylinder? Can I mount two on the outside even if I don't have hydraulics there? Should I mount three of the dang things and be done with it?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Ken's blt on hooks make some good ones and in my opinion on a SCUT, two would be appropriate, I would just loop a chain around both and go from there.

Yup, the hooks from Ken are the one's I was looking at. So it would still be ok for me to chain up items and lift from hooks mounted towards outside of my bucket, even though I will only have cylinder in the center of the loader? I just read through that thread and it had some great info. Thanks!

Maybe there isn't a "wrong" way of going about it but here are a couple of examples.

I am also looking to mount some of Kens hooks on my bucket. From what I have researched it would probably be better to have 2 hooks on my machine. The center of my bucket is much weaker than near the ends. I don't plan to over do it but you never know?!?!

I think two hooks would be fine on that machine, the lift capacity is only 675lbs at the pins, full height so you can figure 550-600lbs or so where the hooks would be placed. I am not sure though how the top of the bucket is configured, so please post some pics when you can.

I don't know if your CS has the same thing, but my DS4510 has two triangular pads welded to the top of the bucket where the stiffeners for the SSQA meet the top of the bucket. Might not work for Ken's bolt-ons, but perfect for welding a pair of hooks on. I tossed the bucket in my pickup & drove it to a buddy's welding shop. He charged me 20 bucks to do the welding. Plus 4 bucks each for a couple of clevis type grab hooks. I cut off the clevis ends & ground the raw edge smooth. No sweat.
Just another option...

Probably right, on that size tractor no wrong way of course depending on how it's used. I don't have any on our SCUTs, but I have five on my L5740.

Thanks for the input everyone! Ken, I won't have the tractor for another week or so but I did find this picture that shows the top of the CS2410's loader fairly well. I ordered up two hooks from Ken today since I'll have the box blade and tiller on the trailer when I get home, step 1 will be to get the hooks installed so I can get them off the trailer! Take a look at this picture, I'm thinking the bolt on's should work just fine!

Yup. Lots of flat steel for bolt ons. That is one seriously cute tractor! You'll be able to get a lot of work done with that guy. What size box blade did you buy? I picked up a grapple a couple of weeks ago. Now I'm saving up for a box blade.

Thanks! I'm excited as all heck to get it home an put it to work! Now I just need the 5 feet of frost to to melt so I can start moving some dirt. I went with a 5 foot King Kutter Box Blade. The dealer has 48", 54", and 60" tillers that are all King Kutter as well with the slip clutch. I'm thinking of going with the 54" or the 60" so I'm sure to cover my tire tracks.

have heard that welding on newer tractors that if it has a computer on them that the welding can damage it. by taking a battery cable off should help some. would this be a concern?

Remove the bucket and that would remove all doubt of causing any problems.

Ha, that's why I bought forks at the same time as my LPGS. Wouldn't have had any way to get the LPGS off the truck without the forks!

Yet another reason to buy Bolt-On Hooks :laughing:

Seriously though, that is indeed a concern-not only on tractors but vehicle as well. Disconnecting the negative battery lead, placing the ground clamp as close as possible to the weld location, and/or removing the bucket are all great options.

I use three bolt on D rings on my bucket 50 hp FT60. Great for my chains/nylon straps or cables.

One in the center on top. Its a 15000 lb pinned D ring with three 5/8" bolts. I used 1/4" plate on the inside so no pulling the bolts through or bending the top of the bucket.

I added two 10000 lb D rings with two 5/8" bolt to the inside upper corners at the top of the bucket. Used 1/4" plate as washers on the other side so no bending or pulled through bolts.

They're certainly overkill but the were free. My company was scrapping three 25000 lb flat panel bond jigs and was going to let them go to the recyclers. I hit my boss up if his employees could have the D rings. I worked for a week removing 24 of them and gave them to other employees/friends/family.

Its great you could salvage those shackles! Scrapping $1500 worth of hardware for maybe $25 worth of return- dah! What's wrong with that? I thought industry no longer was so wasteful? Sounds like GM back in the 70's.
