Prices are still infinitely below what we were getting in 1984. Adjust for inflation and dairy farming would be profitable again.

Notice I said TODAY.

"Much of last year" was 6 months. Plus that was base. Any dairy worth there salt would get a good amount more than that for premiums.

Milk was $20 not to long ago. You have to take the good with the bad.

Milk barely broke $14 in the 80's.

I disagree with that. The family farm is plentiful around here. The problem is few are willng to make the sacrifice it takes to make it happen.
