That 20% chance of rain that was forecast hit here with a vengeance an hour or so ago; another frog stranglin' gully washer, just a little very small hail, pretty stout wind, lasted less than a half hour and I poured another .6" out of the gauge.:(

If the Lord didn't want us to have knee-deep grass in our yards, he wouldn't send us rain every day.

Actually, we've missed this "event" so far in Sunset...knock on wood.

Yep, Jim, I mowed this swamp Friday and it already needs it again.

This is really getting old now! Another little squall line came in from the north just before 7 p.m. with a brief downpour and I got another .35" so that's a total of .95" today.

i dumped the .5" out of my gauge last night from the past 3-4 days... and last night we had a thunderboomer roll through complete with pea sized hail.

this morning... another .5" in the gauge and a very muddy yard

There's been a little (enough for a meager first haying) up north of I-40 in Jackson Co, but Atlanta is getting almost NOTHING!!

My first cut was pretty good, better than avg at least. Unless we get rain though there won't be a 2nd cut. I really hope it starts raining again *soon*. In the summer you can usually depend on late day showers but those aren't even coming.

We are in bad shape here in N. Georgia. Just finished our wettest 3 months and are 19” below normal in our county. This Friday it will be a month since the last time I mowed our lawn. Normally this time of year I mow every five days. The farmers are selling cattle because they can’t get hay. The veggie garden is about a loss because the deer can’t find any new growth in the woods. We need a tropical storm to come up our way bad.

Got a few snowflakes and a little rain at my house last night. The snow stuck at about 5500', which is about 500' higher than my house. It didn't hardly snow (or rain for that matter) all winter, but now that I've got the tomatoes out we get some.

Which is what I just finished doing today. I mowed our yard and both of our daughters' yards Friday and they all needed it again today so I did it even though they're still really too wet.

A 2nd cut?!? What's that?

Around here folks get one cut and that's it. By July 1st everything is dry, dry, dry, and it won't get wet again for 4 months. Of course by then it's too cold to grow anything.

I suppose if we cut in mid-late May and left the stuble relatively high, we might get another cut, but you might not get decent yield for either cut.
