JJ,

I like it. Nice simple design. I'll probably copy it someday.

Looks good. Very simple. I remember seeing it now. I wonder why Power Trac used two cylinders. I might build this later.

Gravy, did you build your own PHD? If so, do you have pics and proceedure?
Thanks,
Abe.

Abe,

Yes, I built it myself. It's very simple. I used a White Hydraulics motor, I think around 24 cu.in./rev., with a 1.25" tapered shaft that mates to a trailer wheel hub from Surplus Center. I then fabricated a simple adapter out of water pipe and plate to connect augers that I bought from TSC. I used a motor spool valve from Northern Tool, and hoses from Surplus Center. The mount is welded up from random scrap.

Life is quite "interesting" at the moment, so it may be some time before I can post photos and details, but a miracle could happen this weekend...

Gravy, thanks,
I will be looking forward to the 'photos and details'!
I hope it is something that I am able to do myself, and afford.

I finished the long boom pole today. It is about 6 feet 6 inches long, if you add that to the 2 inch receiver quick attach plate, it come out to seven feet. Please note that it has a 2 inch receiver male on one end and female on the other. I plan to make a digger/scrapper plate and other attachments that I or others can think of. I have a 3 foot section of the same pipe and will probably make a short boom pole.
I put 250 pounds on the end and the PT422 rear end did not quite come off the ground.

Bob,

That boom pole really turned out great. I must say it is one very large pole.
Now we need pictures of it in action.

Nice job. I would recommend that you attach a steel support cable to the tip of the boom, and the top of the vertical 2 in receiver. If you happen to pick up a large weight with out it, something is going to bend, or pop a weld or bend your QA plate. I built a similar pole for my tree snipper. You can get more lift by inserting the pole in the top receiver, and using the tilt to raise and lower the pole. I have a picture of one like this one if I can find it.

BobRip,
Where do you get your materials (steel) from? And how much does it cost?
Thanks,
Abe.
