Is there a tee with a capped port in the line between the bottoms of the two cylinders? I suspect that line on the bottom is supposed to be piped to the plugged port on the valve.

It's just a straight line with no tee.

Are there any quick connections in the hydraulic system? Look over the lines carefully and see if you can find something that doesn't look factory.

I didn't see any quick connections, but it looks like someone may have added additional lines and splits. I'm not sure if they are supposed to be there or if they were used to connect to another piece of equipment. Here are diagrams of how the lines are routed. (lines to the bucket not included)

Thanks again for the responses. I'm lost without them!

I don't see how the cylinders can work piped as you have drawn. I still think plugged port on the valve needs to go to the bottom of the cylinders.

You might get more response by posting in the Massey Ferguson forum to see if someone has the same tractor and can tell you how the lines are routed.

I agree 100%. I'm buying some new hoses and a splitter tomorrow. Will post results. Thanks for your help!

It won't work like you have it draw. There should be 2 lines ( with a T providing flow to both cylinders ) coming out of the valve and running to opposite ends of the cylinder. It takes 4 lines coming out of the value to make a FEL work. One line to lift, one line to provide power down, one line to curl the bucket up, and one line to curl the bucket down.

Agree with what has been mentioned. IT wont work as is. Those are double acting cylinders, designed to be power in both directions.....and use that capped port at the valve.

Even in a pinch, if someone wanted to make it power up and gravity down.......they did it wrong. The hose going from the valve to the cylinders should have gone to the base end of the cylinders, and the rod side should have had the hoses removed and a breather vent installed.
