Welcome to TBN..................

I saw a boomer 20 for sale on Albany CL for $12.5K w/ MMM and 40 hours. That may be the one the OP saw.
I think NH has a good track record. The Mitsubishi 3 cylinder tier 4 interim diesel is a good engine. No personal experience with NH but they have been around quite a while and I think they are a good tractor. Tractorhouse has supposedly new (leftover?) 2012 boomer 20 w/mmm for $13,610

I think that Boomer model is just a re-badged LS tractor -- specifically, the LS 2020, with some minor cosmetic changes and blue paint. You may want to look at the track record for the LS tractors for a comparison.

I'm NOT saying that a rebadged model from an established foreign tractor company is a bad thing. A lot of the big names use foreign tractors or foreign parts for major components for their smaller SCUTS/CUTS -- even Deere.

I bought a Boomer 20 about 10 months ago. I got mine new from a local dealer that has a great reputation in my area. I was looking at the Kioti CS2410, Kubota BX25D and the New Holland Boomer. I wanted a FEL and backhoe on my machine. No midmount mower. As I was shopping I eliminated the Kioti because the nearest dealer was not good, poor customer service. Additionally a Kioti dealer in New-york told me that he would not reccomend the small Kioti because the backhoe is not well designed and the tractor is not heavy enough for the backhoe. He wanted to sell me the next bigger model if I was going to use the backhoe for anything more than digging flower beds (his words). He said they have had lots of service work on backhoe equipped 2410's.
I really liked the Kubota and could buy one out the door for 19,000. I did not like the idea of having to swivel the seat every time I wanted to move the tractor when doing something like digging a ditch with the backhoe. I was at the local Kubota dealer with the check in my pocket when I decided to visit the NH dealer before I bought. My father had dealt with them several times over the years and had good things to say about them. When I arrived at the NH dealer I asked to look at their subcompact tractor. I was surprised how much bigger the boomer was than the Kioti and Kubota. After trying out a demo model I ended up buying the NH. I paid around 2000$ more for the Boomer than the Kubota. This is my first tractor, I have a 2.5 acre lot with woods and 70 acres about 10 miles away that is all wooded. I have 80 hours on my tractor and have used it for digging out large rocks, skidding logs, leveling dirt and gravel, hauling firewood and plowing snow. I inquired at the dealer about the Boomer 25 and the sales person told me that it is not worth the extra 2000 dollars to jump up to the Boomer 25 as they are the identical machine except the 25 has more HP. In summary, I love my Boomer and have experienced no issues in my 80 hours. I am sure that I would have been happy with the Kubota as well since some friends have them are are impressed with what they can do. The Boomer is a rebadged LS tractor and I am certain that I could have saved a lot of money by buying a LS but I opted to go with a proven dealer.

Good looking tractor, Melmark!

I think you raise a really important point about picking a machine (in part) based on the dealer. You shouldn't underestimate the value of having a good dealer that is relatively close-by. That was a big consideration for me when I selected my Deere over a Kubota -- both were awesome machines and close enough in price, but the Deere dealer was a lot more flexible -- AND THEY HAD BETTER WEEKEND HOURS which is really important when you've got a full time "real" job during the week. I was shocked that so many of the local dealers around here close at noon on Saturday.

The closest Kioti dealer to me were very poor business people. When I went into the dealership there was a lady waiting for help with her toddler son. The sales person was on the phone and the owner was sitting with his feet up on the desk. I asked the lady if she had been waited on, turns out she was just picking up a part for her husband and she had been waiting for 10 minutes and nobody even asked her if she needed help. We waited about 5 minutes and I turned to my wife and said "lets go". My wife asked.....you haven't even talked with anyone yet? I told her that if the tractor was 2500$ cheaper here than NY I still would not buy one here. What happens when I need advice or help as a first time tractor owner? I think that I made the right choice in the end.

This is almost the same thing that happened to me at a Kubota dealer last week. I went in and one sales person was busy so I asked the other one about the size I wanted. He sat with his feet up on the desk threw me a list of tractors on the yard. Said to go out and look and when you find one you want come back and get the keys. I took the sheet layed it down on the sales floor with a not so nice note on it and left.
