Bought a used Cat excavator with no manual

I picked up a grey-market used Cat 307, and it didn't come with an operator's manual. Most of the machine is straightforward enough, but there are two buttons whose function I cannot fathom.

This is the first one; it's a toggle on the console that doesn't do anything obvious on either setting. Any ideas?

My guess is that this one is a circuit breaker. No clue on the other one. Obviously something to do with kilowatts but that engine symbol is confusing. Good luck.

red button looks to be a 60 amp breaker. KW maybe-kilowatt, maybe for glow plugs? Guessing by the ball shape. Allthough it is a +KW maybe that is an economy switch, where for more power you hit the +KW button. I know that some engines are rated as an X KW engine with the KW as an alternate unit for HP.

I'll tell you what. I'll trade you some work with my IH TD6 Drott loader for you doing some for me with the excavator.

I am just up the street 1/4 mile from yur property.

Try this site for a manual. Just select caterpillar and search for 307. They had 2 manuals available but I don't know if that is what you are looking for.

Hmm. I thought it might be some sort of power economy switch, too. Can't see anything change when I toggle it (engine stays the same, pumps don't seem to change sounds). I guess I can try to move something heavy, and try toggling the switch to check if it gets easier.

I have a Grey excavator. The design around the KW is the same as on a switch I have. It might be some kind of crankcase heater. Or block heater. Mine is for an auto idle, that doesn't work.
