Bought my first garden implement

I'll never hand dig potatoes again and that's saying something.

There is still some raking to do and rooting around to get them all, but it is an incredible back saver. I planted 50# last year and netted 500#. Getting the grandkids involved was a hoot. They only lasted for two rows out 5, but hey.

If you do, I recommend the orange one. First, of course, it matches better, but beyond that it is shorter, which is a big big plus for traversing the yard.
Truly. Join TSC online and get a $10 coupon or just ask the manager for $10 off. Bet he/she gives it to you.

I also think the orange one is a middle buster/subsoiler combo too...

Gotta be a little careful here, in that TSC changes their suppliers frequently.
All I'm saying is that the BX's lift height it what it is and some of the Middle Busters are very tall, too tall to transport.

I originally bought the wrong one, they got it loaded into my trailer and after I saw it, had to go back into the store and exchange it. Whew!!! soooo glad I did.

Kyle, yes. At the time, some TSCs had three models, a tall yellow, short yellow and XB orange, which I bought. Again, TSC changes their suppliers from time to time, so just sayin'. There are some MB at TSC that are just too tall for the BX.

Hmmm...I'll have to look at what they have in stock next time I'm there...Thanks.

Getting set to buy one of these in few weeks. Everything I see/ hear make it sound like even the more exspensive ones are still worth it.
Last year was our first attempt at growing anything more than just a few tomato plants. The few pounds of spuds we put in did so well that we are getting set to do more and maybe a couple of different types this year....last year year was hard enough on the back, so yeah, gotta get one of these!

Man, thse garden pics look great. Its snowing here again today, so it seems a long time from gardening time to me. The kids pictures were priceless.

Last week I picked up the King Kutter middle buster at my local Fleet Farm store. Also bought myself a tillage tine, as shown in the picks. When the middle buster "plow" shape is unbolted, I can then bolt on the tillage tine, and the holes line up just fine. That makes it into a different animal. When that was done, I immediately realized I had to fabricate and add the cable and irrigation tubing layer addition to it. After trying it, I saw that it doesn't go into the ground as far I liked, because my tractor's draft arms go only so close to the ground. So I added a 3 inch flange to it with a new lower pin mounting hole. Now the point will go in about 16 inches. I will get this repainted as soon as possible.
