For the grease Napa will have it and as stated above most larger autoparts stores. If you have the 10 hours that quick you might want to head to your loacal dealer (on line or brick and mortar ) and get your filters and fluids lined up /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Congrats on the new ride /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Xlnt point!!! I'm right near 100 hrs and have yet to find a dealer that has or will get Super UDT!!!! Finally a 4th dealer, some distance further, "says" he has plenty of it. Hopefully this weekend I can do the change. Believe it or not, 2 dealers (owned by same company) ordered it for me but their corporate computer was (as the parts guy discovered) coded to substitute the UDT # for the Super # (resulting in them having more and more UDT in stock and never getting Super). Also, nobody around carries the Chevron substitute. Unfreakingbelievable!!! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Have Fun, I am still waiting on mine, which doesn't matter to much, as I had to go back to work, on the road, and will not get back home until June. But still checking with the dealer, they are having trouble getting BX 23's down here in the south, it should be here in another week or two. In the mean time, I had posted about the deal I got, and another TBN'er, called and got one from the same dealer, very popular manchine. I can't wait to get seat time with mine. Any way I know the yard needs to dry out, as the Dealer did let me use his Demo Kubota 5030, which I promptly got stuck trying to get some thousand pound stumps moved. Seams that a lot of tractors are getting stuck these days, I guess its due to the wet ground. Any way have fun, I am still waiting, for my turn to play.

My dealer would not even sell me the UDT, he said its all the same and does not carry SUDT. He carries UDT but said by the new holland (smurf oil) stuff, its cheaper. I went straight to the service manager and he showed me tractors getting oil from the same tank NH, K and mustangs. His quote was, as long as the maint. schedule is followed I don't care.

WOW! You too, huh!!! You post a lot and I may have missed it, what did you use @ 50 hrs? FYI, I went to a NH dealer this week (close to the office) to get an O/R clutch for my BushHog and they were the nicest folks ... I wouldn't mind using smurfoil next time ... is it to 'bota spec?
Cheers!!!

After the 50hr service, the hydraulic oil does not need to be changed very often. Why not use the oil specified for the tractor? In my opinion, I want to keep my little BX for the long haul, so why not use what is specified. I'd look around for a dealer with the proper supplies, or order them from Tractor Smart. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It's funny I think some dealers would try to sell you a filter for an old Rambler and Non detergent 20 wt.

Reasons must be:

Stream line parts to save $$
To lazy to stock the correct parts.
Easier to sell what you got first.

My dealer is first rate (Emerich Sales) They have everything I have needed in stock, and at prices very close to Mail order. You should Insist on doing business with the same type of people.

When I wanted Super UDT They asked me (Do you want It in 2.5 gal Jugs or a 5 gal pail its the same price?) I took the 2.5 gal Jugs easier to pour.

I told my dealer that I have read on TBN about dealers that don't use, recommend, or sell SUDT, and they said WHY???? THAT IS WHAT KUBOTA TELLS THEM TO USE.

[ 10 minutes after I bought it I wondered how I ever got along without it. ]

You know, I went out the first night after my BX23 was delivered and spread gravel on about 100 feet of my driveway. I think it took about half an hour. My first reaction was similar to yours: "I should have done this years ago!". That has to be a common reaction. I have since leveled out part of my yard and dug out some stumps with the BH. Aside from it being alot of fun to do, you can certainly get alot done in a short amount of time. Enjoy your BX23.

Found the grease at Wallymart. Bought to 14oz tubes. However, I think I went through almost an entire tube. I pulled the trigger until I saw grease ooze out a bit. Is this correct? Does itr really take 1/2 to an entire tube to lube it up each time?

Your fittings may have been a little dry. I can get any where from 4 to 6 greasings with one tube. I pump until I can see grease coming out just like you said. Youe probably won't go through nearly as much next time you lube.
