I thought there were spring clips in that style? Those things sticking out diagonally in front of the shanks?
Those are the pins.

Some do have spring clips. My 8' does:

That is a very nice box blade! Certainly not homemade, looks like an older style Gannon or Woods. They use the spring clips to hold the shanks in. You should be able to get them from a local john deere dealer as well, it should be the same shanks and spring clips as a Frontier BB1284

This could get you started:
(EDIT: Removed photo as it was the incorrect style, see post 15)

The spring clips on mine are welded on:

The black arrow points to the missing spring ring for the short pin.

You are right, this is the long pin the OP needs:

Another consideration is slot spacing and front or rear slots.

Front slots:

Rear slot:

Also need to measure the openings to see if the top and bottom are the same length:

I was mistaken, the photo of the part that I posted is incorrect. I didn't notice this until xfaxman posted. The style you have xfaxman is not the spring clip the op needs, it is different.

This is the style you need... (see pic) and https://www.amazon.com/Gannon-Box-Shank-Spring-Clips/dp/B07KS4DGM7
Note: I wouldn't buy them from amazon, I'd go to the dealer if close by, in case you get the wrong size/style you can easily return them. I'll edit my original post to avoid confusion.

If you zoom in to this photo you can see how the shank looks through the steel, and you might be able to see the spring clip.

There are two different styles of spring clips.
Your type works if the top opening in the square tube holder is wider than the bottom opening.

Little but Mighty. Check Land Pride if you have a dealer near. My 1272 Land Pride Box Blade has spring clips the has those held in place at the notches. I would guess they sell them for not too much. I also broke a tip on one of mine - replaced the tip for $17 from Kubota.

As mentioned before - AgriSupply is a has several different sizes. Might measure the holes and see if any will work on that box. Also measure the length after the attachment to make you can raise enough when not used or lower enough when rippers are needed. These pictures show them raised in the highest notch and do not interfere is not needed.
