Box Blade Choice

its a king kutter or county line. My guess is the 5 fter is in the 300-350 range. I have a cheap Atlas brand i bought used for $200 is has ripper shanks and all. It will stop my tractor if sunk to deep in grass or hits a root adn wont bend, of course im not running 9-10 mph using it either. The only down side of this is that it does not have a replaceable cutting edge, i gues i could either bolt or weld a new one up if needed. But i only use it to maybe bust up a field everynow and then to reworked my gravel at the house and tried to fill a mudhole in on my woods road (did not work but i was in to much of a hurry to fool with it). Mine weighs around 200 and is classified as lightweight, but like i said it will stop my tracotor and not bend, but i do need to add weight to it to get it to cut or stay in the ground well.

there is a 5 ft'r at the local salvage/scrap yard here in Braselton Ga, can be purchased for the cost of weight, I think is 39 cents pound,
although looks to be a heavy built one with the cutting blade on the backside as well as the inside,I think i remeber seeing 4 scarifiers, not sure of the make.... if I were guessing the weight I'd guess over 350-400 lbs... estimate costing 140-175

dang deep, you need to grab that thing. I got one but at that price i might think of selling mine and trading up.

if he still has it tomorrow I'll go take a picture of it and send it over to you just to see if you would be interested? if so I could proly talk him into holding it a day or so for you, I really have no use for another box, plus as i said it looks heavy built and remember my tractor barely pushing 20 Hp. I would say take 25+ Hp for this thing, but if your interested;)
I'm still looking for the tillers

I did not know who manufactured mine it just has a serial number with no name. Curiousity was getting to me so I did some checking on it. I bought it from Spalding and sure enough it looks Identical to the Lowery from KY. that Fredricks sells. I was pretty sure thats who it came from. Picked it up with the YM2000. It's been over 3yrs and the only thing I've had to do to it was put a weld back on a Scarifier Tip. I knocked Loose when I got it caught on a root. I would say he gave me a good deal on it for 300.00 new.

Tractor Suppply Co. has a 5' box blade for a very good price. Does anyone have one? Can you tell me what the weight is? I am very interested in a box blade for a counterweight; the Bush Hog is too bulky!

Stormpetrel,

Here's one from Tractor Supply, I plan on leaving it on for the winter.....

Stormpetrel,

Here's one from Tractor Supply, I plan on leaving it on for the winter.....

That is a nice looking rig for the money!! There's still a deep hole in my wallet where all the money I spent on my grapple used to be.......I don't know how soon it will be before I can afford it. Then again, there's a new TSC opening close to me, and they're having a 10% off sale this Saturday. Hmmmm.
