Will your dealer let you try out a boxblade when the machine comes in? My dealer had some used blades sitting around. This may be a good way to get a feel for the weight. I don't mean that you should necessarily take it home, but maybe hook one up to see what feels "right" for the tractor.
I read your initial post. My needs for the boxblade were similar to yours--I have a 500 foot driveway and I also needed to relocate some dirt. In my instance, I cut down through 10-12 inches of compacted gravel and clay with chunks of cement and concrete block mixed in. Was it possible to spin the wheels? Yes, but the tractor handled the 5 foot boxblade very well. I haven't seen a 50 inch boxblade, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. My guess is the 54 would be a good fit--see what your dealer thinks.
