hey guys, just pondering on which blade to get first? all info would be great! i have to maintain 2 miles of field road and move snow in conjunction with 63in. front blower. b3000 is coming in apirl, maybe:mad: also who makes the best bang for the buck on implements? thx tony

Is that 6'? What's your outside wheel base measurement? Do you think it's wide enough or would you like a few more inches on each side? I'm starting to get serious about building one. I'm just going to buy the rippers and the cutting edges. I need to make a choice between ordering 6' or 7' harden steel cutting edges. I don't really want one 7' wide but I could cut a 7' blade down to 6'4" if it would really make a difference.

We went box due to dirt work and gravel parking lot upkeep. Snow removable (not often required) is the only time I wish for something that will angle.

6'. Completely covers the tread width on our MX. Would not want a 7'.

Yes, you are quite right sir. The OP asked whether a box blade or a rear blade would be better for grading a 2 mile long road. I wonder whether you have read the thread or not? The entire thread has been full of discussion that neither a box blade nor a rear blade is the best implement for grading 2 miles of road with a utility tractor, and that a land plane grader is far more suited to the task. So, sir, I would respectfully ask, have you read the entire thread? If not, I would recommend reading the thread before making such a comment. It sounds like you are trying to say, "Hey, the title only mentions box blades and rear blades, therefore you are not allowed to mention a grader." If you have already read the thread, then I am not sure why you would make such a comment this deep into the discussion. I invite you to elaborate.

As I stated the question was bb, or rb. You keep harping on the fact that a planer box is better for road building/maintence. Any one with any tractor equipment knowledge already knows this.
Not all people can afford or wants to have 3 peices of equipment, but you do not seem to get that fact.
I started to go back through the thread to see how many times you tried to sell the planer box, but I got bored counting

LOL! I am not selling anything. I do get the fact that not everyone wants or can afford 3 pieces of equipment, but the OP has not stated that is the case. As far as I know, there are no rules against making alternate suggestions. You can be upset about it if you want to; that's your choice.

Until about a year ago I really didn't know much about grading scrapers. I just assumed that a box blade is what I needed. Everyone I know around me with a tractor said box blades are great. Now when someone asks a question like this I bring up the grader just to make sure the person asking knows about them before investing their hard earned money. After all how many times does a guy come on here and post a question like "I need a 25hp" only to find out his plans include brush hogging 10 acres a week only to be offer some good advise that he wasn't looking for.
