Sounds like the lift arms on his tractor are either not original.. or tires are spaced way in.. otherwise he -should- have clearance for a standard cat 1 impliment.. etc..
Oh..by the way.. my kk 5' rotary cutter runs decently behind the ym1700.. with the longer lift arms.( oem pro shaft on that KK.. same as I use with muy N, and NH 1920 now.. ) So does the 30" scoop.. full to the brim with 500# clay. However.. the disc is just to heavy out on the ends of those long levers.. have to let the 8n disc.. I guess the disc is right at about 700# anyway..
