<font color="blue"> Bird,
Should I have bought a box blade instead of my Landscape Rake?
</font>

Well I'm not Bird, but I would say you should have both the box blade and the landscape rake! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I'm glad I do... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

They're both nice tools to have. I never actually owned a landscape rake myself, but looked at and considered buying one several times. I think the landscape rake would be better for cleaning up debris, probably a little better for spreading loose material, and things such as that, but if you need to do any digging, or dragging any quantity of dirt or other material, I think the box blade is much better. I really think it's good to have both, but if you can only have one, I'd definitely take the box blade myself.

I'm slow today, Bill. I started to answer before you posted your reponse, but got sidetracked. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Buy the box blade! But let the dealer show you which box blades that they sell or have in stock. I have a 4 foot blade that is made by a company down here that looks just like all the others. And I don't know the name of it and it works fine. I thnk that it is called "AgMeir" or something like that. The dealer told me that they have been around for a long time and have changed names once or twice. And it was a lot cheaper than the kubota brand. Of course, it was the box blade that many of the dealers around here have. Green, red, blue and orange. Some company south of me makes them. I got my box blade for rear weight but I have found many uses for it and it stays on my tractor more than my mower and any other implement. Just my thoughts! Get the BOX!

I purchased a 48" Landpride with my 7510. It works great as the others have said. I also have a 60" landscape rake. It's really good for cleaning up the larger rocks and sod once you've got everything leveled up. The BB has many more uses. Maybe you could put the landscape rake on your Christmas list.

Sorry Bubba. I was a bit to hard on those King Kutter products. I guess I had just a bit too many bad experiences with them. My friend has a landscape rake and their box blade. The box blade was manufactured with crooked holes for the top link, it still works, but I HATE sloppy mfg.
Also, the way they engineered their rake made it unable to fit on my BX, they have since changed their design. And all of the bolts, fittings are, well, less than optimal quality in my opinion.
I bought my BX because I love quality. I guess you still get what you pay for.
No offense meant. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Apology accepted. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I'll be the first one to agree that KK products are not pretty, but I think for the money they are made well enough to do almost anything you can throw at them, and leave enough money for another implement when you compare them to the higher priced items. When company comes over, you throw a tarp over your KK items, so your good stuff takes the spotlight. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

A tarp! They aren't that bad, in fact I'd have to admit that I have given a thought to the almost two implements for one effect with the KK stuff.
Sometimes my quality thing goes too far, for what I do the KK stuff would work proably work fine, and it's going to be very hard for me to cough up the extra $$ for a landscape rake when I will proably use it three times a year.
Perhaps I will get a KK rake and then paint it orange complete with a Kubota logo.
I even found one in Japanese that I thought would be cool!
(keep in mind I used to have WWII Flying Tiger "teeth" on my old Troy Built tractor, sure did get some funny looks!) /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I also have a 60" KK box blade - it's been a great tool, and is everything I expected it would be (both good and bad). I'd buy it again. Whatever brand you buy, it's an excellent investment, probably the most useful attachment you can get.

If you have a lot of stones, sticks, and clods, you will still have to rake that stuff out, depending on how picky you are about lawns. I figure if the grass will cover it and the mower won't hit it, it can stay! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

To all those with the Woods & KK box blades, I was wonndering how much cheaper ($$ wise, now) they are than the Kubota L7516 BB. Rather, what price should I try to use as a point of reference (the Kobota BB) with my dealer.
