Hi,
This might have been covered in other posts, but I couldn't find much that would help me.

I just bought a small 13hp Ford 1300 tractor and was wondering what size box blade would be the best, or even if the tractor is powerful enough to even think of a box blade. I'm not worried about moving lots of dirt fast, but I have an area about 30'x60' that I'd like to level out, and a long gravel driveway that has a few low spots.

Thanks,
Steve

4' Should be fine, if a light-duty unit...

I agree.. 4' should do a good job covering the rer tires..

So, 4' would be good. However, there's a 5' box blade on Craig's list for a decent price. Would that be too much attachment for my little 1300?

I think you won't have enough traction for it..

I also think the 5 footer will be too large for your tractor. Good Luck :p

Thanks for all of your sage advice. It seems that the general consensus is that I need a bigger tractor, so now all I have to do is convince my wife... :)

I would not say that; I would say you need the smaller of the two box blades! Now if you are looking for an excuse to get a bigger tractor, well then.......:p

i have a light weight 5'

It likes to skip over hard ground. But in softer ground or if i put some ripper shanks down i can EASLY bring my "much" larger TC33 to a standstill in no time.
