SSQA Snow/dirt plow blades

What if your driveway isn't flat? Even being out of float it doesn't change the fact that the geometry doesn't work with a FEL as the force pushes up at an angle to the FEL pivots. That will always want to raise the front wheels off the ground. A direct mount plow on a tractor or truck pushes STRAIGHT back to the frame, not up to a point 5 feet off the ground.
Not sure of the geometry but I've never had a problem keeping the front wheels on the ground plowing snow with a FEL plow. Maybe I'm just lucky?

My ssqa plow has some slop built in that once the blade weight is on the ground, the fel weight is not. No problems riding up, and I just feather the fel over elevation changes. Im sure a floating frame mount plow is easier to plow with, but really the loader feathering is a non issue for me.

When my loader mounted plow begins to push the tractor one way or the other I correct it with the steering brakes

Anyone that wants one I'd be more then willing to sell my blade. It's an 8 footer.

Not really looking for dual purpose. It will be used in the snow and maybe a bit on rough ice.
I have no plans to use our good tractor like a bulldozer in the dirt.
I just mentioned snow+dirt because the one I saw years ago was advertised that way.

What I'm wondering about is how well does it work? Does it need skids? What are the downsides? Can you see the edge? Part of what I need to do is work around bushes and trees, and scrape down to ice if the snow is compacted.

I don't see many tractors equipped with a SSQA blade and wondered why.
Mine is sold as a snow/ dirt blade. Your supposed to install bolts to secure the spring tilt. Never used that way, never will either.

Been using it on my dk45 for snow though for 14 seasons. Works great. Only side to side movement, not tilting.

I dont use float mode either, as it tends to lift front wheels. I also always chain up front wheels. Mine never moves tractor while plowing off to the side. It will move without the chains.
