Grading Box under joystick

Yes;
You would hook into the power beyond port on the side of the existing 3 spool valve body. If I were adding another Aux. hydraulic circuit I would Buy a SD 1627 2 spool open center valve (just to match apples with apples)... and mount it to the left side of the steering console. I would order it with I of the two spools with a float position.You would plug the tank return port on the existing 3 spool valve and hook up your tank return lines to the tank return port on the new 2 spool open center Aux. valve.

One thing I would like is the log splitter valves that lock into the open position til the pressure increases... Don't see that as a feature on these valves....

Wonder if these SD's are cheap... Anyone have a source on them?

So how to you get the handle to be in a different position. Meaning to mount this the device would have to be horizontal, and I want to place it on the front wall, like the other one, vertically. I can't seem to find any handles that make that change....

Also, given my brake is there, it probably is going to have to be smaller....

Carl,

If you use the standard log-splitter valve. You push the lever forward, and it extends the cylinder, until you release the lever, where it stops and returns to center, with the lever at spring center position, you put it in reverse or retract. You can hold it in reverse, but if you pull back all the way, it will go into detent mode and pull the cylinder back to the retracted position.

Now if you were to use this valve in reverse, you would push the valve forward into detent and when it gets to the end of the stroke, it shuts off and handle returns to neutral. If this were hooked to a cylinder, it would be extended, and left at that position.

There is another valve that I have heard about, it goes in to detent on the forward stroke, and when the pressure builds up, it reverses, and at the end of the stroke, it shuts off. However if this is used in a log splitter operation, it just might build up pressure before completely splitting the log and return, leaving the unfinished log on the splitter. How do you plan on using this valve?

The purpose of this circuit is primarily for the grapple. I use the Grapple the most at this point. While having the hydrualically released detent is unnecessary, I thought it would be nice to be able to activate the open portion of the grapple and not have to be hands on. I would want the close motion of the circuit to NOT have the detent if possible. But this is a bit of a wank. Truth is I just want control of my grapple on the left side. None of the methods listed on the site have worked for me, due to my inability to work with any skill with metal. So I am thinking that just adding a circuit is the a ticket, and then my change-over time will be a bit quicker as well...

Carl,

I believe the quickest and easiest for you, would be the 12v solenoid valve, and the valve could be mounted just about anywhere, with a wire going to the solenoids. A toggle switch located with in reach, and you are set. You could use the aux or QA circuit for the fluid. This way, you can use both the lift and grapple at the same time. A toggle switch located in the handle of the joystick would be ideal. You can make this or purchase another joystick handle with switches already installed.
