Nice! I have a Land Pride BB 25-72. They look so much alike that I thought you had the same one. That last bid amount is the price you paid? That's a great deal. They're very heavy and well made.

I got mine off Craigslist and it was very rusty. I cleaned up the bad spots and hit 'em with primer then paint. (Land Pride paint color is "buckskin" in case you ever need to order it. :)

Good luck with your new toy--- er, tool! :D

Yes I am excited. It will really help me with roads, drives, ruts etc.

Now all I have to do is check out the info from the old experts on this site and tell me how to use the **** thing.:thumbsup::D

Oh yes! you be in business now
as far as using it you'll learn easy enough, as you have it with the scarf turned up this was I'm sure to transport it, although you can do flat scrapping with them this way, of course when you need to dig and move larger amounts of dirt the scarfs will help to cut and loosen the soil so the scrape can fallow up and pull the dirt, ;)
I've used miy BB so much in the past 12 years it has worn down the sides front corners by 1 inch:cool:

Yup, definitely. On Friday I'm going to help a friend grade a delivery of gravel to "freshen up" his five year old driveway. I'll try to get some pics and/or video of the box blade in action.

You should check this out if you haven't already:

That video is better than nothing but its fairly vague. Its not as easy as they make to be. At least in my opinion. Moving dirt is fairly easy with it, scuffing up the ground is easy, but grading and finding the right angle and pitch can be tricky. Practice practice practice I guess.

It looks just liteveke my Land Pride, (higher cost, But USA Made and very High Quality.)
The "local" and Craig's List have usually left me very much short, althought Craig's List
is an awesome start.

Steve

I agree. The ground at my place is far stonier more compacted than what they show, and even well-graded gravel will not work as smoothly as what they're showing with that good 'ole southern red sandy soil. It's important to get the side-to-side and fore-and-aft angles right by adjusting the lift rod and top links, and to raise and lower the box scraper in small adjustments. Don't try to do too much in one pass! I have a SCUT (MF GC2410), and if I try to really dig in with the scarifier teeth, I quickly come to a halt.

If you have the patience to search Craigslist a couple of times a week you might find some deals. I got my ballast box and box blade off Craig's and a Red Maxx leaf blower and a few other things too. All were 25%-50% the price of new and the ballast box was basically new... the guy kept it in a barn and had never used it and there wasn't a scratch or spot of rust on it.

It's frustrating sometimes 'cause you'll search for weeks or months and not find anything, and then one day the thing you're looking for will pop up. If I had to pay new price$ for all these implements, I'd wouldn't have as many! :D

Don't forget to turn your teeth around!:laughing::laughing:

I have one of these Worksaver's 6" reversible cutting edges both front and back. It was a great deal as I recall. Been a while though so I will refrain from quoting what I paid.

Oh, yeah. What's the going rate for BB work?

With the economy being bad you have to be competitive but it goes from $50-$65 hour depending on the job, a fuel delivery fee goes with that on jobs of short duration, a lot of jobs is by the job also, because people want to know cost up-front. I am in Florida the home of sand and swamps!

Just picked it up today. Very nice. The reason the blades are sticking up is cuz the guy never even used them. Came from the factory that way. Paint is hardly worn off. Now time to play, er I mean work on things :D:D:thumbsup:

and remember if you have suitcase weights and need to get the box to set more firmly to the ground, The weights can help on the box, the box I have is a rather lightweight one and I have to use the weights quite often on this Georgia Red clay;)

Nice find! Just ordered mine off of EA today new, had been looking on Craigslist and other sites for months with nothing popping up, or getting snatched up quickly. At least it will be orange like the tractor, too bad it won't be here for the long weekend... :D
