Re: Boys \'n there Toys

FarmerBob, Like your toy. I noticed that your house is the same design as mine (built 4 years ago). My son loves the bonus room. We built a hall and bathroom in the attic over the kitchen area. He almost has an apartment up there. There have been several of these houses built in the middle Georgia area since we built. One question. Do you have a water problem in the front of the house between the garage and porch? Do gutters take care of the problem? Like your landscaping, will show it to my wife when she gets home. PS I park green in my front yard. John.

Great looking rig. Congrats to you. Do you by any chance know MOODY WHITEHEAD and RON JONES at The Bank Of Augusta? Fine fellows both!!

Re: Boys \'n there Toys

Thanks John. I just bought the house and 10-acres a couple of months ago. This house is a little over 5-years old. The bonus room over the garage is finished out, but we're currently using it to store boxes that we haven't unpacked yet. Both my kids are grown and gone so I'll probably turn it into a second family room so I'll have a place to go when the wife's nag'n. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

We have not had any water problems with the alcove, and believe me, it's been a wet spring. The gutters do an excellent job of channeling the water out into the flower beds and away from the foundation. I learned long ago that gutters were a very worthwhile investment in the long term.

This house also has a small apartment that can be partially seen in one of the photos. It's totally self-contained with living room kitchen combination, bedroom, laundry room, full bath, and an enclosed garage. We use it as a guest house when we have out-of-town vistors. It works well and allows our guests a level of privacy if they want it. I've turned the garage on the apartment into my workshop. I tell my friends I'm the only guy I know that has a workshop with living quarters. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif I raise Llewellin Setter bird dogs as sort of a hobby and will also use the apartment as a small office when buyers come to pick up pups. At least that will give me a little tax relief. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

I hope you enjoy your house as much as I do mine. I'm real happy with the layout and the property. I'm located in central Arkansas.

As for "Nehi", my Kubota, she sleeps in the garage attached to the house while my truck sits outside in the weather. Do I have my priorities straight? /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Re: Boys \'n there Toys

Thanks Jim. I'm real happy with the L2600 and glad I chose it over the "B" series. I had a B7100HST and liked it a lot, but I think you get more tractor for less money in the "L" series. Just my opinion of course. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I've never dealt with the Bank of Augusta, but both of those names sound very familiar. I might have met them at one of the Arkansas Bankers' Convention events. I work for a bank holding company and all of our banks' are located in Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas, and Louisiana. I'm SVP of Operations and don't get much chance to get out among any of the other banks'.

Bob, I drove a bus load of 6th grade students to Little Rock Sunday before last and we stopped and had dinner at the "Dixie Cafe" in Cabot on the way back.

Guess I missed ya by a week Jim. My wife and son and I ate there on Mother's Day after going to a movie. But, our favorite place to eat is in Jacksonville. It's called "The Crooked Hook" and has some of the finest catfish 'n hushpuppies you ever ate /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Re: Boys \'n there Toys

FarmerBob, Thanks for the information on the gutters, I need to install them also. We also like the house and would not change a thing. We are on 6 acres, thinking of buying more if the owner next door will sell. "Do I have my priorities straight?" Sounds like you do, my truck sits outside also. John.

This would be an interesting poll topic for the future. My truck sits outside as well, at least until we build the new house with a "three holer" /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
