Brakes

My 2010 (left side) brake has lots of play in it probably
due to me taking off with the brake lock engaged on too
many occasions...

I noticed a seal around the brake housing...Is there tranny
fluid on the other side? I.E, do I need to drain the
transmission fluid prior to checking the brake pads, etc?

No fluid in brakes. The seal is to keep out dust and water.
