i don't want to give the dealer to hard of time- But...
Would it have been asking to much to at least insulate painted surfaces from concrete and each other with some shop towels -or even cardboard?
and that shaft laying on the concrete with what appears to be machined ends... I would have been apoplectic.
I understand that it could be a small dealer with the mechanic doing his best but...
probably wouldn't have posted this but just happened to see a new Mahindra commercial where a John Deere owner gets so ticked off that he throws his hat in frustration and they cut to a scene of a new Mahindra.
any way it sounds like a thrust issue with the gears/ shaft Hope they check the installed clearances closely as Dave alluded to- Hope they get your tractor back together in perfect working order and condition POST-HASTE
