Brand New B2650 UDT fluid leaking

You shouldn't lose much oil if you plug the breather and leave the dipstick in (I also wrapped the dipstick tube with a thin sandwich bag wrapped with a rubber band) I lost maybe a tablespoon changing both filters on my B2601.

I'm searching for a new UDT filter and found a Stens brands that is the same as the Kubota one. Is Stens a good replacement or stick with the Kubota brand UDT filter?

We have used Stens filters at work and had bad results. They were air filters that we were using and dusted several small engines. I would not recommend or use them. On our B26's we had issues with Wix filters also. We now only use Kubota filters on the transmission and hydraulics.

I am definitely not a filter expert, but on one of the threads here Messick's said you cannot always go with the cross references due to the makeup of the filters. They stated that the micron filtration size could affect the performance of the filter. I guess what I am trying to say is for a 20k machine I am just buying kubota filters.

Is this a brand new tractor from the dealer? Typically Kubota's have gray painted filters when new (painted when they paint the chassis). That filter appears to have been replaced already.

As already stated, be careful in the woods, there's a lot of things that can get damaged on the underside, I even had a small stick come up and knock the suction hose off the hydrulic pump on my b2620.
There's a reason forestry equipment has full heavy skid plates on the underside.

Yesterday I did some work with the tractor for about a half hour. Parked it in the garage and the drip is no longer there. I checked the UDT fluid and the level is good. I've been keeping a piece of cardboard under the tractor every time I park it so I can see where the leak is coming from and the cardboard was clean. Not sure what to think. I'll keep my eye on it for a while. Maybe the filter seal did break and resealed itself???

I spoke too soon. I check out the cardboard yesterday and there is an oil puddle. I ordered a filter and a new oil filter drain pan that will hold 4.5 gallons. I believe the transmission only hold 4 gallons, so I can drain it completely out and reuse it. I do want to inspect the oil filter housing on the engine. Is there a place that I can find a diagram for a parts breakdown so I know what to look for on the engine? I tried the Kubota website parts diagram, but it doesn't load for me.

If you use the center drain plug and don't drain the final drives it should be even less, also raise the 3pt fully and curl the bucket down etc. will reduce the amount of fluid in the trans.

Why do you want to inspect the engine oil filter mount?

Messicks has parts diagrams on their website -- they are a great help when figuring out all sorts of stuff with Kubota equipment. Also a great place to order your parts.

I did look there and couldn't find the parts diagram. I was logged in also. I must not be finding the correct link. I found where I can order the parts book, but that is not what I want.
