Yes and no. No here in north idaho. Snow and cold, etc takes its toll on all equipment left outdoors. In so calif, I would not hesitate to leave something outside.
I live in central New Hampshire. We get a lot of snow, cold, and road salt. The truck sits outside.
Arguably, you cannot compare the weather tightness of a cabbed truck to an open station tractor. Nothing on the truck is really exposed. Most tractors have fairly open engine compartments, and operator stations. Wires, hoses, sensors are all quite exposed to elements. My cars have lived outdoors most of their lives too, until recently… but I wouldn’t compare that to leaving my 72” ZTR in the elements for 10 years.
My tractor is a cab tractor; everything inside the cab seems as protected as something inside the truck. Some things are more exposed, but if you look in the front wheel arches of a pickup, you can see the engine, and obviously everything is open below.
