Coyote, I suspect that you worry about a lot of things that people don't need to be worry about. I'd be curious to see the statistics of how many people are denied warranty because of a modified exhaust routing. Probably an incredibly small list. And I'd bet if you turned someone into the EPA for removing their Tractor's soot can, nothing would come of it.

You would be wrong about what I do, in the time I spend trying to assist misguided folks about the facts of how the EPA rolls. When it comes to modifying exhaust routing, and/or removing emissions components that are required by the EPA to reduce cancer causing particulate matter one can, as I've stated numerous time, do what you want, and while doing so recognize the consequences of one's actions. Manufacturers are in NO way required to warranty an engine that has the federally mandated emissions device(s) removed by an owner. Whether they would continue to warranty the engine is their decision/risk. Only you suggested turning someone 'in' to the feds - I never suggested that, ever.

So you didn't read the document, did you?

That document, is for manufacturers, importers and companies that "introduce engines or vehicles into commerce".

End of story.

Anyone else is welcome to read the document for themselves. I recommend reading the entire document.

I am done with you.

I know what the document is about and have read it, otherwise explain how I quoted the relevant section that is one of two exceptions to the general rules, dealing with fines for INDIVIDUALS, which are NOT companies or manufacturers?! Show me where the document states that provisions regarding individuals are not included, and I'll state that my conclusions are in error. Good luck.....

If you're done, now maybe others can become informed about the actual penalties and fines that can be levied by the EPA to INDIVIDUALS as well as well as importers and manufacturers. Yahoo for accurate information dispersal to those interested in same. Sure is difficult these days to get people to see facts and know when they are right in front of them.

I have thought about replying to this stuff but then this thread would either be closed or moved to un"friendly" politics.

Seems you did just reply to this stuff. It seems to me that the general 'thinking' is it's my tractor, I can do anything I want, regardless of what the EPA or anyone else says or thinks. That's a very misguided notion. Does one really conclude the EPA is dumb enough to put restrictions only on importers and manufacturers; then allow Joe public to tear out all emission related devices after purchasing the vehicle or tractor /engine? I think not.
