Breaking new ground. What a PITA.

Your grandpa was a smart man.
He was that and so much more. I have lived a very fortunate life and one of the things that got it started was living across the street from my Dad's parents and their farm. As a child I spent a lot of time with my grandfather who was a Swedish immigrant. He never directly taught me anything, but just by being with him he taught me lots.

I would use pallet forks if you have them to dig the roots out. I've dug out root balls with forks slid together. Then level everything out with the bucket on "float" and till when done.

I agree. With all his practice, he should fix you up pretty good😀

You’re in Jersey- isn’t snow coming soon or does it melt in a day and plunge onward?
Climate change We have the weirdest weather last some years. Rain bombs flood the streets like it was Florida, Winter isn't what it used to be 30 years ago We've had 60 degree days this month alone.
Climate changes on a dynamic planet. There's no holding still. Thank god.
