We love cigars, so I really appreciated the smokes in there. Here are a few things we liked in particular. ​

Reeses Cups are great, they didn't fair the heat very well getting over here. They didn't leak out, they were just deformed a bit.

He didn't ask for, but I can suggest based on other soldier's requests that I have filled that there are some common things that come in handy in the desert climate. Chap Stick or Carmex lip balm, skin moisturizers, various snack foods like the Starkist Lunch Packs (contains tuna or chicken salad, crackers, etc), Jack Links beef jerky and beef sticks. Simple things like aspirin, tooth brushes, etc. Music CDs. Movies on DVD.

Wayne, if you gathered 80% of what he asked for, perhaps it would be easiest to simply post the 20% that he would like to have, but that you are not able to send him???

Bob, et al....it wasn't a specific list so much as I sent him the list of my "library" and asked what he wanted copied....some don't copy. Most of what I didn't get copied is filler material. My suggestion to anyone having a collection and able to copy them is to send Brents the list and let him mark what he/they would like. And of course all of this is in jest. Please read on.

Hey guys, how are you. I am staying busy here, but getting more comfortable with my responsibilities each day. The weather is cooling off, it is hitting highs in the mid nineties. They may seem pretty hot but remember, whe I got to Kuwait it was 125 and then here in Iraq it was 115! I am attaching a few pictures. The first one is of a Desoto truck. I didn't know Desoto was still around. It may not be the same Desoto. The second is of me standing at an old anti aircraft firing position. 3rd is a sunrise over a guard tower and then last is me standing beside one of the many junked MIGs that are out here.

I see you have the new ACU. What do you think? Did they issue you 2 sets? I have not bought mine yet and still wear my old BDUs in CONUS. I am trying to time my next tour to SWA to coincide with the supposed date of SEP 07 when i can no longer wear my BDU.

Actually I was issued 4 sets. They are much more comfortable than the BDUs. The velcro for the rank, name tapes, etc is OK the first day you have them and don't have to have rank and such sewn on, but after that it becomes a pain. I would rather have it sewn on. The velcro on the cargo pockets of the pants does not hold now. It is like the hook side has gotten hot, maybe from the dryer and it doesn't want to hook.
