My son just called me to confirm our hunting time for opening day of deer season tomorrow morning. He lives 18 miles north east of me and asked if I knew how much snow we are supposed to get tonight. I laughed, then he said he wasn't kidding. He has an inch and a half right now and it was 36 degrees and will drop through the night. I hope its still on the ground tomorrow. I'll have my camera with me so I'll snap a couple pics if the snow's still there tomorrow.

I just used my tractor all week picking up and pushing branches down the road because off the HEAVY WET snow. Wasn't much fun and winter is coming too quick and fierce in Western NY..

Guys, and I have a heated cab . . . snow anytime before Dec. 25th and after Dec. 26th is just obscene!

How do your tractors handle in the snow/ice? I have a newish JD 3320 with F4 wheels, a FEL and a rear blade, and I'm wondering if I need to put on chains before the Chicago area snows start.
Also, just to clarify, the preferance seems to be to aim the blade backward and drive in reverse to push the snow. Is that correct? Do you angle the blade?

Great looking unit. Hope you have good luck with the blade. My King Kutter bent like a pretzel when it became hooked on a piece of ice. Now it has a 20 degree angle in the straight hole position. ( and a knot in the base shaft ) I thought it would be tough enough for the snow in the drive but I was wrong. No more KK items for me.

Glade someone is looking forward to the snow.
Great blade. I would suggest thinking about gauge wheels so you don't dig into the driveway. Thats what I did on my rear blade and worked well last year. The wife liked the fact that the grass stayed where it was. The only problem was that the cheap wheels I bought twisted a bit. This fall I changed to metal casters.
