Another reason not to use the 3 point to work backwards- like plowing snow. (Not that ANY of us EVER do that!)

My lower left ( looking at tractor from rear ) lift arm BROKE !! It is CAST ! I was shocked , it just broke . It broke where the hole is for the lift arm to pin on . I bumped a tree in reverse and it broke . What a bummer , anybody know how much a new arm is ? 801 is stamped on the end of it ? Will post pics later tonight . I think it was cracked before I bought it .

I purchased a brand new 2014 4105 in April and broke 4 arms so far. john deere has an updated version so we know there is a prooblem. they have warrantied mine to the extent they gave me two extras to keep on the truck till deere comes up with a resolution. the design has 3 bends and it puts side force on the arms when ussing equipment and this is a design flaw that will surely be ongoing

i bought the tractor based on the size and the reviews on deere's site and only after i have broke 4 arms do i realize i was misinformed. And btw, talked to three dealers before i bought the tractor and no one mentioned updated draft arms to me! sell it and get the money and let deere deal with the problems seems to be the rule. and deere has dropped the ball on this one.

Trying to trash Deere doesn't work, if that is what djackson is trying to do.
And such trash is allowed to be posted on the forum, as well as problems that people have had with their Deere.

Maybe you could explain what you are using the tractor for when the arms break.
I have one of my grandads 8n's I can barely remember him breaking it. But I remember going to the welding/blacksmith shop. The left side broke right where the lift arm hooked on. The man fixed it with a half moon shaped piece of metal underneath the arm. Never broke again even with me as the new operator. Do not know how it was fixed but the repair was about a 1\2 wide and very shiny silver-and it still is shiny 30 years later.

You can buy a new pin bushing / lift arm repair end and have it welded onto the draft arm. No big deal and a very common occurrence. Tractor Supply sells them with their 3PH parts assortment. CountyLine® Lift Arm Repair End, Category 1 - Tractor Supply Co.
