Broken Branson

   / Broken Branson #31
On the Kubota I mentioned in my earlier post, It was on a 90? HP Kubota that had the baler hooked up incorrectly. Anyway, the big u-joint on the baler snapped and when it did it twisted and offset the PTO shaft in a big way. I had just knocked down enough hay for 2,000 or so bales and was truly screwed with a twisted and bent offset PTO shaft.

Long story short was that I took an angle grinder and made the PTO shaft go on with a big hammer. What's to lose? Oh, boy I would have bet it wouldn't work and each bale I feared was my last but I made the 2000 bales and beat a storm by not much. Kubota must make those PTO shafts out of kryptonite because it should have twisted off and snapped.

If I recall, changing the PTO took an hour or so.
