Sounds like a good 'fix' to me.
Would you offer any info on how it happened? Or is it too embarrasing?
I'm suspecting a side load from a big rock or tree dropped on the cylinder, but would think that would just bend it. If normal usage, and even though the tractor and FEL are several years old, I think Deere would stand behind it.
