Broken loader cylinder

I am in need of a hydraulic cylinder(the tilt one) for a 720 Ford loader used on a 841 Ford PowerMaster tractor. Mine was damaged(bent rod) and I am having a hard time
finding a replacement and I had not planned on getting a whole new(used) loader. I live in Ballston Spa, New York and would be willing to travel a little bit to get one.

If you reach out to a good hydraulics supplier with the bore, closed length, pins measurements and open length etc they should be able to get you one thats close.

List the dimensions of the cylinder. Rod diameter,retracted length, extended length, pin size, cylinder od etc. Somebody may be able to point you to a cylinder.

As long as the innards of the cyl are still good, it may be to your advantage to rebuild it....if it works with another cyl (twin), I'd recommend repacking the other one that way they can size up the bent one for exact length

If changing the entire cyl, bear in mind it may not fit exactly so keep that in mind if you have to modify the loader

If you can locate a hydraulics repair shop they can either straighten your rod if not bent real bad or quite possibly build a new rod. They charge a premium for this but often times better than subsituting another cylinder and making modifications to you loader cylinder mounting.

most shops will make you a new rod..e tc.

if it's a single cyl setup.. a red lion from tsc would likely work. BTDT

surplus shop may or may not be cheaper.

look at specs.. etc.


if it's a dual cyl setup, and you rebuild.. do rebuild the other with new seals. if you repalce with a different cyl.. I think I'd repalce both and sell the other one...
