1910 ford
I have a 702b front blade on my 1910 ford. I ended up tripping it when i reached the bottom of a hill in the pasture. It broke the two bottom studs that the springs attach to. Looks like they are welded into the blade assembly. The only way i see to repair is to drill out what is there and manufacture something similiar. Has anyone had these break? I havent checked with the new holland dealer to see if this is an available part yet.

The part that broke isnt labeled with a part number. If you look at the drawing for the blade, its the part that the spring fits over (on the blade), it shows a cotter pin going through. Im wondering if Im not going to have to manufactor something to fix it. Thanks for pointing me to the site though.

It looks like the studs would be pretty easy to fabricate. A better design would be to support the stud from both ends. If you can weld, I would try to fabricate and weld a bracket to the blade that supports the end of the stud, similar to the way pivot pin #15 is supported.

Messick's site is great. It links to the manufacturers parts website but allows you to see parts availability and prices. I also like how you can enlarge the diagrams by scrolling in/out on them for close up detail. They are really good people to deal with from my experience too.
